CRETE VALLEY - Crete Renewable Energy Valley
Duration: 12.2023 – 11.2028
Funding Scheme: HORIZON-IA - HORIZON Innovation Actions
Objective: CRETE VALLEY aims to develop an innovative Renewable Energy Valley ‘Living Lab’ (REV-Lab) consisting of four Community Energy Labs (CELs) located across Crete. The CELs will demonstrate a data-driven, multi-carrier grid system for the sustainable and cost-effective production and storage of energy. Each CEL will rely on different renewable sources and promote the active participation of local communities to achieve both energy independence and energy democracy.
HEnEx in Crete Valley
HEnEx is the leader of the Task “Unlocking the potential of REVs participation in wholesale electricity markets”. Taking into consideration the new product requirements, HEnEx will design and develop a Day – Ahead (DA) market simulation tool to analyse how changes imposed by the provision of new products for REVs could affect the market results. It will take into account existing and future operating requirements of the electricity market. An important feature of the simulation tool will be the assessment of the impact of REVs on the social welfare of the DA market.
