Commencement of HEnEX’s Day Ahead & Intraday Markets

The Hellenic Energy Exchange (HEnEx) and its clearing house Energy Clearing House (EnExClear), both part of EnExGroup, successfully launched their Day-Ahead (DAM) & Intra Day Markets (LIDA1, LIDA2, LIDA3) under the EUPHEMIA Algorithm on 31/10, after having joined the Price Coupling of Regions initiative in November 2018.

The successful launch of the new markets is the result of the persistent work of the teams of the two companies and of ATHEX Stock Exchange which has developed the Local Trading System. During the first two trading days, 45 active Market Participants traded 236 GWh in the Hellenic DAM. All Local Intra Day Auctions were also successfully executed with the involvement of multiple Participants.

Coupling with the Italian borders is due on 15/12/2020 under the Italian Borders Working Table (IBWT) and coupling with Bulgarian borders is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. Both are expected to assist even further in the integration of the European day-ahead electricity market.

Clearing Fund amount for Balancing Market

EnExClear, as the Clearing Fund Administrator, in accordance with Part 8, Section 2.27, of Clearing Rulebook for Balancing Market Positions, announces that the Clearing Fund is set at € 10.958.530,49.
